Dr. E.J. receives the 2024 Innovative Educator Award

Through Dr. E.J. Bahng's Origami Workshops via video conference, the children and senior adults at Althea Center are exposed to many geometric shapes and forms while learning the ancient art of folding paper.

Dr. E.J, as the children called her, has generously contributed significant in-kind or volunteer hours working with the Althea team in building curricula around literacy and STEM/STEAM topics as well as contributing to the Social Studies aspect of the STEAMSS curricula. She has mesmerized students answering their questions about space, the galaxy, and individual planets. Over the course of her years of collaboration she has shared her cultural customs over various topics and read three of her authored books. During summer times, she has connected with the children from Japan and South Korea, which helps elevate the children's engagement and curiosity. Therefore, due to her commitment to aid the Althea Center achieve its mission and vision, the Board of Directors for the Althea Augustine Technology Learning Center proudly presented Dr. E.J. Bahng, with the 2024 Innovative Educator AATLC Award in recognition for Excellence in Service to AATLC.
